The Arabic meaning of the word “Noor” is Light/ brightness but this word is also often used to refer to as “beautiful” .

To the Sufis, nūr is the first creation of Allah, and all other things and beings were gradually created from it. The Andalusian scholar Abu Bakr ibn al-Arabi (1076–1148) elaborated the concept that Muhammad existed before creation. This is the doctrine of An-Nūr al-Muḥammadī, or the Muhammadan Light.

An-Nur (Arabic: النور, romanized: an-nūr, lit. 'The Light') is the 24th chapter of the Quran with 64 verses. The surah takes its name, An Nur, from verse 35.

Al-Noor is the Apparent One Who has manifested Himself fully. The One Who is apparent on His own and Who makes everything else apparent and visible is called al-Noor Who takes things out of non-existence and brings them into the world of existence.
